Government and Policy Fair 3.0, organized by HIMASTAN Universitas Negeri Surabaya, is a prestigious event aimed at enhancing the skills of students while providing a platform for creative expression through essay and short story writing. The competition focuses on the theme "Optimalisasi Peran Pemuda dalam Pembangunan Digitalisasi Pemerintahan Indonesia" (Optimizing the Role of Youth in Indonesia's Government Digitalization Development), encouraging participants to explore and contribute ideas on various subthemes, including education, technology, environment, economy, tourism, zero waste management, and health. This initiative not only fosters academic growth but also helps bridge the gap between students' creativity and real-world governmental challenges, offering an opportunity to influence the discourse on digital governance in Indonesia.
The competition is structured into multiple categories, including an essay contest and a short story writing competition, with a registration period running from October 20 to November 18, 2024. Participants can submit their works in different waves: the first wave for essays is open from October 20–26, and the second wave extends from October 27–November 18, 2024. The short story submission window and the package registration for both categories are also open during this period. Each submission will be assessed by a panel of experts, and the winners will be announced during the awarding season on November 24, 2024, providing valuable recognition and feedback for the participants.
This event is an excellent opportunity for students to not only showcase their writing talents but also to engage in thought-provoking topics that are shaping the future of Indonesia's government and policy landscape. The registration fee for essay submissions ranges from IDR 25,000 to IDR 30,000, while the short story submission costs IDR 15,000, with a discounted package available for those participating in both categories for IDR 35,000.
